Trump protests on Saturday will avoid conflicts with Noyo Food Forest’s Earth Day fun and Town Hall Craft Fair
The next big day of Trump protests is Saturday, April 19, 2025 Protesters from Indivisible Mendocino are making efforts to prevent the protests from interfering with two other events going on in Fort Bragg that day.
Saturday is also the annual Earth Day celebration of the Noyo Food Forest at Fort Bragg High School. One of Mendocino County’s best-known musicians will join the music on Saturday- Gene Parsons.
“Sign-holding rally this Saturday, April 19th, in conjunction with 50501. Starts at 11:00 a.m. so that it won’t interfere with the Noyo Food Forest Earth Day event. We’ll end at noon and encourage people to head to the Earth Day Festival then,” said Christie Olson-Day of Indivisible Mendocino. (50501 stands for 50 protests 50 states and 1 message)
And efforts will be made to prevent interference with the craft fair at Town Hall on Saturday. Last time, about 1000 people came and filled sidewalks in front of Town Hall. Town Hall, a gathering place at Laurel and Main Streets, is Fort Bragg’s shrine to Democracy and protests by people ranging from Evangelical Christians to the Women in Black.
(Town Hall is not to be confused with Fort Bragg City Hall, located a block to the east on Franklin Street)
But this time, Town Hall, where the Craft Fair is being held will be avoided by the protests.
“The location will be on the sidewalk in front of the Guest House and southward so we won’t interfere with the crafts fair at Town Hall. We will not be at the four corners for this event, said Olson-Day.
She remembers that April 19th commemorates the 250th Anniversary of the beginning of the American Revolutionary War.
What gets me is that so many angry people hate protests and call them un-American. I guess they were throwing spitballs in school when the rest of us learned about the Boston Massacre and king infuriating protesters like Samuel Adams and Patrick Henry. America was founded on protests!
When other founders began to worry about the rope, John Hancock signed with a flourish and in “letters big enough for the king to read my name without his spectacles”.
Linda and I attended The Huddle on Wednesday night, a monthly meeting of Mendocino Indivisible. The national movement is promoting making 5 calls to your elected representative and Mendocino Indivisible offered a phone-scannable link to that program. Call about what? They have 55 issues to pick from to protest. It’s been a year with even more issues than that, but that’s a bit too many issues for me, even just choosing a few for the calls.
The last Trump protest in Fort Bragg was massive. Unlike other Town Hall protests, people were crammed together from in front of Mayan Fusion to both sides of Redwood Ave.
HIstorians will tell us many glaring truths about this horrific era, where the Constitution, voting, the public process are conquered by the first American dictator and the federal government’s official news sources, Fox News. Naturally, they are trying to eliminate the only remaining neutral national media, PBS and NPR. That’s one of the 55 issues the national movement wants everybody to call our representatives about.
For me, I’ll try a different strategy. Calling my congressmember seems a bit pointless.
Scanning the list, I’m pretty sure our Congress member, Jared Huffman, pretty much already favors and pushes all 55 issues without being persuaded.
The protest movement is growing and I hope to see it help stop the current destruction of America and everything we have built here as a nation.
What’s most interesting to me is that the left are now the only conservatives in America. If you went to the event on Wednesday, you would not see much color, noise or flourish. These folks are mostly retired and working people who don’t want to lose the America we love.
Here is the quick fact lesson.
- Liberal is by no means now nor has ever been the opposite of conservative.
- Radical, the people turning everything upside down are the opposite of conservative. By EVERY definition of the word you cannot be radical and conservative. Plus, the Trump team has abandoned every principle of conservatism.
- Liberals were radical in the 1960s and 70s. Now they are the conservatives as they fight against the elimination of due process, the public process, voting rights and other conservative principles.
I hope the power of the federal government and the work of a pure dictator in Trump does not udue all the good we have here. I hope some people gain the courage of Sam Adams to stand up to the unchecked government force and power and the many Tories upholding everything the government does that we are seeing from Washington right now. When I read history in the past, I used to feel sorry for the Tories who were upholding their king. This time the dictator is forcing the anti-American revolution folks!
I love what we have in this country and and on this coast and if anybody tells me love it or leave it, I might send them into space with their idol, Elon, cuz I love it. LOL.

In this time of nothing real, a huge portion of the left has been for the past 8 years (in my humble opinion), among the enemies of Palestine and best friends to Israeli aggression. How? Their protests Ive seen have ONLY been against the Democrats, NOT Trump or the GOP. WTF!! This incredibly ridiculous nonsense was featured in the college protests last year, which did not target Trump or the GOP, or even Netanyahu, but mostly Biden.
At a recent Town Hall, Huffman was booed over Israeli policy. Im sick of this idiocy, sorry fellow so called leftists. I was NEVER a Democrat until Trump came along and despite neo liberalism. But if you are going to do this, just be anti Palestine openly!!! While Trump was being elected, these allegedly pro-Palestinian groups were suing the Democrats and omitting the GOP entirely. WTF? Follow the money!!!!
