Broken leg! Wasp attack! Apologies for missed stories and appointments. We are back at it Sunday. See you at the quilt show!

.
So we hired 4 guys plus Linda and I went to work clearing our acre. The first casualty was me. I was out for half an hour and got attacked by a swarm of yellowjackets. Got a nice eybrow sting that made my ear fire tears all day Saturday at work.
Second casualty was Linda, far worse. She went out to survey the landscape and help around the back of the pond and while doing a garden happy dance she took a tumble, fell down and broke her leg!
We had both planned to do a lot with Mendocinocoast. news Friday and Saturday but life interceded. Mom and Joel have been a big help! Thank goodness for family and community surrounding us. Linda is resting comfortably at home.
I really love quilts but missed the quilt show and I had a cool preview on it. Its on Saturday till 4 and Sunday 10-4. I had a big story about the donor to the library and the quilts and stories of quilts. I fell in love with quilts when my grandma told me stories about them and all that went into them. I was a fast talking auctioneer (still am if you need a charity MC guy) and went to auctions. You would not believe the Amish quilts, the Quilts from the ladies of Boonytown Illinois’ Prebyterian Church and the guilds back there!
And we have them right here, great art created by the Ocean Wave Quilters on display this weekend at Dana Gray for $10 two day admission. I was telling some LADIES about it yesterday and they could not fathom why people would go and stare at quilts!!. Midwest is different. I like quilts too, because its like 90 percent women!!
You are a guy who thinks quilts are silly?
I’ll close and get back to Linda here with a quote from Star Trek about that:
Romulan: “Romulans don’t believe in luck.” Martok: “All the better. Leaves more for the rest of us.”.
Here is the press release from today:
The 29th annual Ocean Wave Quilt Show ends Sunday 10 am to 4 pm Sunday. The $10.00 entry fee is good for both days. The show will be held at Dana Gray Elementary School in Fort Bragg, California.
Over 175 quilts will be on display by local artists, featuring everything from hand quilting and embroidered designs to appliqué and paper piecing. This year’s featured artist is Ronnie Kemper.
Our vendors complement the show with creative offerings that include beautiful fabrics, stunning jewelry, quilting supplies and more. There will be a booth for sharpening your scissors.
As a prelude to our quilt show, Ocean Wave Quilters hosts the annual Fort Bragg Quilt Walk. Over 100 quilts are being displayed in local businesses and restaurants in Fort Bragg as well as at the library and hospital until after the Fourth of July. Look for the Quilt Walk signage on the front windows of participating businesses.
